We’re proud to share our prices openly — and we’d like to explain what being ethical and honest means to us.
At The Lighthouse, we treat every pet as if they were our own.
- No commission-based pay. Our vets aren’t driven by sales targets or financial incentives.
- This means our focus stays exactly where it should be — on doing what’s best for your pet, not on meeting numbers.
Some practices reward staff for booking more tests or emergency appointments, even when they’re not needed. We don’t. If your pet doesn’t require urgent treatment, we’ll tell you — but we’ll never turn you away if you’d still like to be seen.
Our pricing is transparent, fair, and clearly explained. We always discuss costs upfront and work with you to stay within your budget.
As an independent hospital, we’re guided by strong core values and a commitment to continuous improvement — it’s a journey, not a destination.

Assessments
Monday to Saturday – 8.00 am – 8.00 pm – £150

Surgery
(Includes anaesthesia, drugs, and 24 hour hospitalisation and one post-op check.)
Surgery Level 1 – £1500 to £2000 – Examples: Gastrotomy, cystotomy, enucleation, tail amputation, hernia repair.
Surgery Level 2 – £2500 to £3000 – Examples: Ex-Lap, splenectomy, pyometra, C-section, limb amputation, enterectomy (standard).
Surgery Level 3 – £3500 to £4000 – Examples: GI resection, GDV (standard), enterectomy, (multiple/complex), diaphragmatic hernia, nephrectomy.
Surgery Level 4 – £4500 to £5000 – GDV (complex), peritonitis, GB resection, penetrating thoracic injuries.
Hospitalisation Estimates
Transfer and overnight hospitalisation for a stable patient – £500 – £750
Transfer and 24h hospitalisation for a stable patient – £800 – £1000
Transfer and overnight hospitalisation for a critical patient – £800 – £1200
Transfer and 24hr hospitalisation for a critical patient – £1000 – £1500
Hospitalisation Only
Level 1 – Basic Boarding – £75 (8am – 8pm) – £180 (8pm – 8am)
Level 2 – Standard Hospitalisation – £185 (8am – 8pm) – £285 (8pm -8am)
Level 3 – Critical Patients – £283 (8am – 8pm) – £385 (8pm -8am)
Isolation Surcharge – £70 for 12 hours
Stray Handling – £50 Initial Fee (Covers the first 24hrs) £50 per 24hrs after.

Euthanasia fee – £250 plus an assessment fee (listed at the top of the page)
Communal Cremation – £74 to £116 (weight dependent)
