Partner Practices

Partner Practices

We invite veterinary practices to partner with us - there are no fees or subscriptions, just a simple agreement, outlining our commitment to each other and fulfilling RCVS requirements.

Working in partnership with partner practices to provide seamless pet and client care, we typically see:

  • Emergencies.
  • Urgent cases that you are not resourced to see in a timely manner.
  • Post-op care cases you have operated but feel would benefit from continuation of care in a hospital environment.

The partner practice provides details of each case by email or phone, leading to a contextualised care assessment which determines the most appropriate case pathway:

  • Admission to The Lighthouse.
  • Overnight post-op care at The Lighthouse:
  • Patient returned to partner practice at an agreed time.
  • (Ambulance options to become available).
  • If you provide a care plan, we will respect it.
  • Internal referral to our experienced referral team.
  • External Tertiary referral.

Appointment requested by partner practice client:

We undertake measures to ensure we only see cases that partner practices want us to see.

  • Based on the time, day and presenting facts, we determine our next steps.
  • We make it clear to the owner that we work closely in conjunction with their regular practice.
  • We ask the client where the pet is registered (if it’s a partner practice, we refer to the specific partner practice information sheet).
  • If the pet is stated as not being registered, we push the owner for more information.

We ask a series of questions leading to a contextualised care assessment which determines the most appropriate pathway:

  • Admission to The Lighthouse.
  • Referral back to the partner practice (we arrange for the partner practice to call the client).
  • Internal referral to our expert-led referral team.
  • External Tertiary referral.
